Cosmic Unity, like the band itself, mirrors the mixed-up, intercontinental terrain of their home town. Moving through genres as diverse as psychedelic highlife, steel-pan Ethio-funk, calypso, baião and scorching equatorial jazz underpinned by deep afro-Atlantic dance rhythms, they have created a cohesive, forward-looking sound that echoes classic tropical recordings of the past whilst still sounding fresh and contemporary. Lush string and horn arrangements give way to acidic commentary on the immigration system and slavery as well as incantations of unity. Producer and multi-instrumental director, Jack Yglesias (also a core member of the underground pyschjazz- funk unit The Heliocentrics) leads the explosive ensemble. Alongside Jack, the band features the powerful vocals and poetry of Venezuelan diva Luzmira Zerpa and the percussive West African mastery of Nigerian/Ghanaian Kwame 'natural power' Crentsil as well as Adrian Owusu (guitar).

Perfect for the little ones Christmas

I ordered this book for a recent baby shower. I always try to get this story as I received one for my son when he was little and we still have it. It makes lasting memories for Christmas to watch them as they listen to you read it and then when you get to listen to them read it as they get older. It’s a timeless tradition. The book itself is brand new, the spine was in perfect shape and the book was never opened. It was super stiff and I didn’t want to open it so I didn’t get any pictures of the pages. But I did peak inside without cracking the spine and saw that the pics looked nice. For the price you can’t beat it.

The Night Before Christmas (Little Golden Book)
Format: Hardcover
I recently read "The Night Before Christmas" Little Golden Book and it brought back so many memories of my childhood. This classic holiday story has been a staple in many households, including mine, for years.
One thing I really liked about this book is the beautiful illustrations. They were vibrant and full of detail, bringing the story to life. The images perfectly captured the magic and excitement of Christmas Eve. It made me feel like I was right there with Santa and his reindeer, flying through the night sky.
I also enjoyed the rhyming text in this book. It flowed smoothly and added a playful rhythm to the story. It was fun to read aloud, especially when sharing it with younger children. The words painted a vivid picture of all the wonderful things happening on that special night.
However, one thing I disliked about this book was that it felt a bit short. I wished there was more to the story or maybe an additional scene at the end. But considering it's a Little Golden Book meant for younger readers, I understand why it was kept concise.
I have used this book as a bedtime story for my little cousins during the holiday season. They absolutely loved it! The magical theme and festive illustrations captivated their imaginations.
