What could be nicer than for the semester to kick off with a class trip to the tropical resort of Jabberwock Island? And what could be more horrific to then be told by the principal that now they’re all trapped there…and the only way they can ever leave is to play a murder game!

In Volume 2, Nanami witnesses the unexpected power of Monomi against a fearsome guardian Monobeast, freeing the way for the students to access a new island at the tropical Jabberwock resort/prison! The island has a library, a pharmacy, a diner, but strangest of all, it has Hope’s Peak Academy itself, mysteriously covered by a growth of trees and vines. Some believe video games cause violence…and Monokuma is out to prove it, as he challenges the class to play a game within their game—Twilight Syndrome, which he claims will reveal their next motive to commit murder.
